Job Types
Setting up Job Types in ShootAssist
Job types are probably the single most useful template in ShootAssist and carry along of power in what they dictate throughout the app. You'll also notice that taking the time to set these accurately for your business should yield both small and large time savings across all the work that goes into a job of a particular Job Type.
Any work you do that is repeated and has the same set of actions, steps, communication etc should be set up as it's own job type in ShootAssist. For instance, at Vernon Photography, we set up Fall Portraits and Fall Retakes as two separate job types because they each get different client communication, different workflows and should appear differently on our calendar.
Setting things up
Aside from their title, every job type gets a few other values that are used in ShootAssist
Business Segment - Which segment of your business this job type belongs to.
Workflow - Which workflow should be assigned to every shoot of this job type.
Length - The average length of these job types (can override per job)
Setup Time - How long it takes your crew to setup for this job type
Start Time - The average start time for this job type (can override)
Calendar Color - The color of these events on your ShootAssist calendar
Once these features are up and running, you'll want to make sure you utilize ShootAssist's automated Client Emails and Buyer Messages to automate these tasks and make sure nothing falls through the cracks. We'll cover that on the next page.
